In our science lessons we have been learning about the different seasons. We went on a walk around the school grounds and saw lots of signs that it is autumn.

Year 1 enjoyed visiting the ICT suite for the first time.

Our Topic is



Who’s your favourite superhero? Spider-Man? Wonder-Woman? Maybe your heroes are ordinary people who’ve achieved great things. Or is it those people who save lives in the emergency services that you admire the most?


We will be learning about:

  • Our senses
  • Food groups
  • Real life superheroes


You could support your child by:

  • Drawing a picture or taking a photograph of one of your heroes
  • Use information books and the web to find out about Guinness World Record holders and their superhuman achievements
  • Make a flipbook showing the adventures of a superhero stick person!
  • Plan or make a lunchbox fit for a superhero
  • Make up a song or rhyme about a superhero
  • Make a model of a superhero. You could use modelling dough, cardboard boxes and tubes, scraps of material or papier-mâché
