Today we went on a fairy hunt.
Mrs Shirmer found something very exciting outside our classroom, a dress covered in fairy dust. We were all very excited and went exploring. We found more fairy dust by the bike shed, near the office and on the adventure playground. Unfortunately we didn't find any fairies but we are going to keep looking!
This week in Maths we are using what we have been learning about multiplication and division to help us solve problems.
Last week we really enjoyed making our Sockosaurus Rex puppets, using old socks.
Last week in English we wrote a story based on 'Harry and the dinosaurs go to school'. We made our versions of the story. Where would you take some dinosaurs?
In Maths last week, we were learning about multiplication and using arrays to count in 2s, 5s and 10s.
Welcome to Year 1
This year group is taught by Mrs Shirmer and Mrs Platt and our LSAs are Mrs Mace, Mrs Nanacolas, Mrs Harvey and Mrs Austin.
Summer term 1
Our topic this half term is dinosaurs. During this topic we will be learning about fossils, interesting facts, making models and creating our own dinosaur songs. At the end of the topic we will be changing our classrooms into a dinosaur museum so that we can show our work to our parents.
