Some of the children's work in French this half-term
Completing the observation of the heart inspired us to write an account about our experiences too!
On Thursday 28th September we had great fun dissecting a pig heart in a double science lesson! We learned more about the size of the different chambers, especially the fact that the left ventricle is larger than the right because the muscle in this part of the heart needs to be stronger so that it can push the blood to the rest of the body. A learning experience we won't be forgetting for a while!
On Wednesday 27th September we completed a Daily Mile with our parents as part of National Fitness Day - most of us managed the six laps... Phew!
We have now started to work on the four operations. Our first session was the skill of multiplying and dividing by 10, 100 and 1000. We began by moving the digits to the left when multiplying and to the right when dividing.
In maths lessons we have been learning about place value in numbers up to 10,000,000. This also included an introduction to bar modelling when problem solving.
