Car-Less Conversation
On Wednesday 25th January 2012, MOMO Theatre Company visited the school to encourage people to use greener methods of travelling to school. They performed their comedy lecture to pupils in Key Stage 2 in the hall of Grove Building.
The professor and his 'assisstant' talked to the children about car-sharing and explained that you can change 12 cars with one child in each for 4 cars with 3 children in each. Holloway eventually got the idea of this with a little help from the school's pupils.
They next spoke about using the bus as a bus can carry lots of people before talking to the children about cycling and walking and giving advice on how to stay safe when using these two methods of travel to and from school. As you can see from the pictures below, Holloway again found some of these ideas difficult to grasp and proved to be more of a distraction from than an assisstant to the the professor.
All of the children thoroughly enjoyed the performance but, not only this, could remember all of the key points raised and hopefully some of them will consider their methods of travel to and from school very carefully in the future.
