Year 5/6 Sportshall Olympics

On Tuesday 10th January 2012, twenty of our year 5 and year 6 pupils attended the Thurrock Sports Hall Athletics Championships at Gateway Academy.

The team was made up of 10 boys and 10 girls who had been chosen by their teachers as children achieving high standards in their PE lessons.

The children completed against Arthur Bugler, Kenningtons and Dilkes in a range of events including standing long jump, obstacle relay, vertical jump, speed bounce, hurdle relay and chest push. In each event the children scored points for the school team based on the position in which they finished.

Our school team finished in fourth place but despite this all, all of the school's team had a thoroughly enjoyable afternoon.
