West Ham Vs Derby County

whufcThe school's first visit to Upton Park of the season took place on Saturday 26th November 2011 when 34 pupils and 4 adults attended the match between West Ham United and Derby County.

Everyone was on the coach and ready to go by 3pm and, once the coach had navigated its way out of Grove Road in reverse, the journey to Upton Park began. On arrival at the ground, the group visited Ercan Fish Bar before heading to the upper tier of the Sir Trevor Brooking stand to take in the footballing action.

Unfortunately, the first goal of the game was scored by Derby County but Carlton Cole levelled the scores just before half time. A much better second half from West Ham saw them score two further goals through a long range Kevin Nolan effort and a Mark Noble penalty.

The group then returned home happy and even made it back to school slightly earlier than expected!
